On Sunday 2 September, Midsumma hosted their inaugural Gender Studies Women’s Art Competition. The launch was a standout success with works entered from a range of female artists across digital mediums, from installations to classic paintings and superb photography.

Stacey Bennett was selected as the overall Gender Studies Competition Winner. Stacey won a publicity package as well as her own exhibition at the Owl and Pussycat Gallery through Midsumma 2013. People’s Choice Winner was Kate Wolff-Hagen, whose piece was a standout audience favourite.
