Red Ribbon Cabaret-VAC Positive Living Centre
Billed as a, night of cabaret under the majestic dome of the Positive Living Centre. I was a very intrigued to see this ‘Dome’. I was very pleasantly pleased when walking into the PLC which is housed in the old Braille Library and the Braille Hall. The building with its domed interior space is magnificent to say the least, she is a grand old lady.
I felt like i was Mrs. Peacock in...

Unanswered! Melbourne's most spectacular dance of...
Dance isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But some dance performances are so spectacular they leave even the greatest sceptics open-mouthed in awe and wonder. Unanswered! is one such piece. The excitement of the dancing, the urgency of the music and the brilliance of the lighting, with one scene melting seamlessly into the next, is truly spell-binding. Don’t let this be “the...
4play2: Courting Mae West
This was the one I was most looking forward to seeing. I expected a play about the sex goddess Mae West… What I got was something very very different.
It wasn’t the usual queer crowd, it felt like I was waiting in line to go see a matinee show of Phantom of the Opera. Nevertheless, it was good to be amongst a crowd who were also fans of this seductive woman…
It was a...

Moon over Melbourne
Midsumma Mooning is a popular Midsumma tradition held annually at The Laird Hotel in Abbotsford. While Mooning is a men only event held at a men only hotel, tradition has it hosted by two female comediennes. Two years ago, at my first mooning, it was Judith Lucy and Denise Scott. This year it was the fabulous and extremely funny Chrissie Swan and Yumi Stynes. However to describe to the...
Hey Everyone!
Hope your Midsumma has been amazing so far!
If you get a chance, head to The City Library for a glimpse of some of the amazing Light Graffiti and street art by Kaff-eine, Tigtab, Blacklodge and Precious Little.
If offers a surreal glimpse into the street art of Melbourne. Set in both the catacombs and laneways, with the distinct parahuman designs of Kaff-eine this collection is...
Roller Derby
One of the must enjoyable events at any GLBT festival is the local roller derby event and Midsumma is no exception.
Roller Derby has actually bee around for close to eighty years, but it has had its peaks and dales of popularity. However I’m happy to say it is definitely on the up side.
Roller Derby on the surface appears to be a mixture of not just roller skating but also but Quiddich,...
Midsumma Mooning
The Midsumma Mooning at the Laird hotel tonight is a great excuse to ogle some flesh and still feel good about yourself because it’s all to raise fund for the David Williams fund those living with HIV/AIDS.
