Red Ribbon Cabaret-VAC Positive Living Centre
Billed as a, night of cabaret under the majestic dome of the Positive Living Centre. I was a very intrigued to see this ‘Dome’. I was very pleasantly pleased when walking into the PLC which is housed in the old Braille Library and the Braille Hall. The building with its domed interior space is magnificent to say the least, she is a grand old lady.
I felt like i was Mrs. Peacock in...

Unanswered! Melbourne's most spectacular dance of...
Dance isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But some dance performances are so spectacular they leave even the greatest sceptics open-mouthed in awe and wonder. Unanswered! is one such piece. The excitement of the dancing, the urgency of the music and the brilliance of the lighting, with one scene melting seamlessly into the next, is truly spell-binding. Don’t let this be “the...
4play2: Courting Mae West
This was the one I was most looking forward to seeing. I expected a play about the sex goddess Mae West… What I got was something very very different.
It wasn’t the usual queer crowd, it felt like I was waiting in line to go see a matinee show of Phantom of the Opera. Nevertheless, it was good to be amongst a crowd who were also fans of this seductive woman…
It was a...
The Bitter End - anything but bitter!

But he keeps him as an online friend to ‘tag’ and ‘like’ whenever it suits… Sean has no idea what went wrong or why. Moon over Melbourne
Midsumma Mooning is a popular Midsumma tradition held annually at The Laird Hotel in Abbotsford. While Mooning is a men only event held at a men only hotel, tradition has it hosted by two female comediennes. Two years ago, at my first mooning, it was Judith Lucy and Denise Scott. This year it was the fabulous and extremely funny Chrissie Swan and Yumi Stynes. However to describe to the...
Hey Everyone!
Hope your Midsumma has been amazing so far!
If you get a chance, head to The City Library for a glimpse of some of the amazing Light Graffiti and street art by Kaff-eine, Tigtab, Blacklodge and Precious Little.
If offers a surreal glimpse into the street art of Melbourne. Set in both the catacombs and laneways, with the distinct parahuman designs of Kaff-eine this collection is...
Roller Derby
One of the must enjoyable events at any GLBT festival is the local roller derby event and Midsumma is no exception.
Roller Derby has actually bee around for close to eighty years, but it has had its peaks and dales of popularity. However I’m happy to say it is definitely on the up side.
Roller Derby on the surface appears to be a mixture of not just roller skating but also but Quiddich,...
Midsumma Mooning
The Midsumma Mooning at the Laird hotel tonight is a great excuse to ogle some flesh and still feel good about yourself because it’s all to raise fund for the David Williams fund those living with HIV/AIDS.

Deep Rimming in Poplar - love across the...
62-year old Reg is in a long-term, loving relationship, but randy as hell! 21-year old ‘Hotboy’ is also in a stable, loving relationship with someone his own age. But something is missing for both of them. They eventually meet up on gaydar.com and the sex is explosive, but there are consequences!
This superbly delivered narrative will appeal to anyone who’s ever been in love,...
Rest ye weary Midsumma patron...
Beautiful city night tonight, the perfect opportunity for the Shakespearean themed “a midsummer night’s dean” with the witty and talented Dean Arcuri. You don’t need to be a fan of poetry or prose to enjoy this fantastic show. I urge everyone to get ye to Loop Bar!

Girls Do Gertrude!
It was an all female cast, as the name suggests. Great acting, singing, directing and loved the use of the beautiful Northcote town hall in the plays. There were 2 plays, the first was my favorite… A Circular Play. I started to enjoy it when I just let the words be and refrained from analyzing and trying to make sense of things. I liked the 20s style and fashion…fabulous. The second...
Queer City Premier Arts: Reveal
Went and saw this gallery on launch night - really touch/go with some of the artwork; but it was a sight to be seen.
Upstairs, the Transforming Pixels exhibition demonstrating gender-queer art and photography made me feel really good about seeing this oft-forgotten part of our community. While some of the art was predictable, the overall quality was very strong and some really pushed the lines of...
Sircuit Bar Australia Day Pie Eating Competition
My first thought is, what have I agreed too?
As Midsumma falls around Australia Day, a lot of the local bars tie in events to celebrate both.
Tonight I’m at Sircuit Bar where in
celebration of our national day and Midsumma they are having a pie eating comp (hey, it beats eating guinea pigs!)
And since I happen to be friends with the Drag Queen hosting the event (the gorgeous Bumpa...
In Vogue - songs By Madonna
Fortyfive downstairs is the most simple yet fabulous venue. She has many personalities and becomes exactly what you need when you need her. But tonight was not about her…its about The One! The one who has become exactly what we have needed when we have not even known we have needed her! (I needed her for most of the 80s for many a heartache) Madonna! Underneath a wash of sultry azure light...
Anonymous asked: Please tell me more about the 4 dead divas show
Spontaneous Broadway
On Friday I had the chance to attend Spontaneous Broadway which was playing for a limited time at Gasworks Theatre in Albert Park.
For those that are not familiar with the concept, the show consists of four entertainers who improvise a broadway style song up on the spot based on suggestions the audience gives. The suggestions are pulled out of a bucket and each entertainer has to create that...

NEGATIVE ENERGY INC
Officially joining the blogosphere,
So we are more than half way into our midsummer I see.. I wish it wouldn’t end!
One of the highlights of the festival so far in my opinion was NEGATIVE ENERGY INC.
The show harbours a not so PC approach to the ugliness within Ash Flanders’ life from the boyfriend’s obsession with the self-help book the Secret to the injustices of childhood in a Christian youth...

Landscape Dreaming - Company White Wolf - La Mama...
I have a confession to make; today is Sunday. It was Friday evening – three whole evenings ago –that I occupied the pews of La Mama’s Courthouse Theatre for Company White Wolf’s delivery of Landscape Dreaming. Directed by Damian Alexander Bernardo and written by Charles Mercovich.
So why has it taken me so long to put ePen to ePaper? Well, I wanted to take some time to stand back and think about...
For all of us who are a lil bent...
As I screeched into the greatest car space ever out the front of Red Bennie’s I really didn’t know what to expect from a show touting names like Glitta Supernova and Dallas Delaforce. So I grabbed my Gin and sat down for what was such an entertaining and side splitting experience I have a new found appreciation for the term “Beef Curtains”.
Beneath the tenderized topside...
